Sunday's Obituary - Mrs. Amelia McDonald

Mrs. Amelia McDonald

Mrs. Amelia McDonald died at the home of her son, Homer, of East Oakmont, Monday night, May 29, after a two-month illness.
Mrs. McDonald, 77 years old, was born in Barber County, W, Va., and had lived here 16 years. She was the widow of Franklin McDonald.
Surviving are four sons, Homer and Raymond of East Oakmont; Howard of Wilkinsburg and Woodrow of Akron, Ohio; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Charles L. Gordon Funeral home and interment was on Thursday afternoon at Parsons, W. Va.

Amelia was my great-grandmother. She was born 12 November 1866 in Barbour County, WV.  She was the daughter of William Auvil and Nancy Valentine Auvil. She married Benjamin Franklin McDonald on 18 December 1884 in Barbour County.

This obituary came to me as a clipping from an unknown newspaper dated 2 June 1944.  She lived in the Pittsburgh area when she died. I haven't had a chance to track down the newspaper.
